Interviews with the makers in their studios

Throughout the summer of 2019, in conversation discussions about the philosophy and inspiration behind each maker’s work were recorded within their own studios providing an insight towards the impact education has contributed to their practice.


Shared vernacular

Research data collected from all of the combined interviews provided preliminary evidence of shared philosophy towards practising craft and the value of making. Despite some professionals within the group working with different materials and applying alternative approaches towards the physical and mental act of making, there is clearly a common theme as illustrated in the word frequency cloud below.
